Houghton’s Pond Bath House
Located in Milton, MA, Houghton’s Pond falls within several wetland resource areas and is part of the 7,000 acre historic Blue Hills Reservation owned by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. It is one of DCR’s busiest seasonal properties attracting more than 7,000 people to the beach on any given summer day. We provided landscape architecture and Conservation Commission permitting services in association with the new bath house.
The design incorporates new outdoor terraces, universal access walks, planting and erosion control. The project also includes design of an interpretive walk along adjacent wetlands which provides universal access to the beach from the upper main parking lot.
