Located in Concord, MA, this project is a sensitive, rustic and elegant reorganization of an existing residential landscape within the historic and conservation context of rural Concord. The design creates three distinct zones of landscape; the house zone comprised of structured garden spaces linked by walkways; the middle landscape comprised of the lawn areas and shrub borders; and the distant landscape that includes the paddock which blends to the historic woods. A new barn, sited to provide easy off loading of horses and a short distance to the paddock, is connected to the house with a post and beam pergola.
